The designers of Daddy Long Legs Hotel in Cape Town, Southafrica  had independent, creative backpackers in mind when building the property. Staying here is like being inside an interactive art exhibition, with unique rooms decorated by artists, poets, photographers, musicians, and designers who had free range to do whatever they pleased. The result is a mix of funny, ironic, and adventurous themed hotel rooms.

The Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Canada

…where to start!? There is so much to say about it. Firstly a big thanks to my dear follower Rebecca Ann for pointing it out!

This beautifully restored Victorian building met some cool folks that are serving a mix of art, culture, style and a great hotel concept in a historical (originally built in 1889) structure. They did it with respect, joy and an open mind. Bravo!!! I simply love it!

The meticulously restored Victorian elevator is one of the last hand-operated elevators in Toronto!

Each of the boutique hotel’s 37 rooms is designed by a different artist, and the on-site gallery hosts shows of works by local talent and international players.

I need to stay there…one fine day.

The Hotel Fox in Copenhagen, Denmark was created as part of Volkswagen’s world premiere of their new car held in Copenhagen. 21 young designers were given carte blanche to show off their talent and the result is a unique lifestyle hotel concept in the Danish capital. Creating a surreal world, from the most bizarre to the most provocative.

Walls to oor are covered with drawing, paintings, catchy taglines, photography from street art to manga, illustration to pop art. Mexicans boxers, appealing geishas, childish cars drawn on the wall, to girly dolls, from military camouage to geometric patterns, the 61 rooms cover a wide range of aesthetics.
