At the chic&basic hotel Ramblas, the vintage theme with a twist gives guests a true taste of fantastic 1960’s Barcelona. Love the “luggage-front-desk” and “room-key-installation”. Slick white pool table in lobby and the joyful color scheme.

Located on a barrier island along Sarasota Bay in Florida, the Casey Key Guest House was designed by Sarasota-based firm TOTeMS Architecture. The design was inspired by the character of the live oaks, which have been shaped by the prevailing coastal winds from the west. Curved glulam pine beams curve up and over the entire space, reflecting the arching quality of the live oak limbs.

The “QT” design hotel in Sydney, Australia with its 200 guestrooms occupies the building above the State Theatre and the old Gowings department store. Playful, stylish but eminently comfortable interiors incorporate many of the buildings original features like a century old urinal in the men’s loo! spaQ continues the retro theme with 1930s tiled walls and original windows (treatment rooms 5 and 6 occupy the old Gowings barber shop).

Italian Design: “tri” by Ovetto - yup it’s a trash can;… that is however nicely designed, offering 3 compartments for trash, paper, recycling and a handy bottle-squeezer function.

Not sure about its “practicability”…but hey…it it looks this great :-)

It reminds me a bit of R2D2 from Star Wars. Doesn’t it ?

Sumptous wood on ceiling and floor, luxurious materials, ambient lighting and fabulous design. The interior of the special edition EC145 Mercedes-Benz Style helicopter by Eurocopter, a subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), has all the style and luxury one would expect from a Mercedes-Benz car. The interior space has been styled by Mercedes-Benz designers.

The Hotel Palazzo Barbarigo in Venice, Italy is a 16th century Palazzo with private dock on the Grand Canal. The combination of a historic building with contemporary architecture and design was achieved with visionary enlightment. It manifests a feminin feel in the 18 rooms overlooking Grand Canal and Rio di San Polo through curvy silhouettes, lush red velvet, dark shapes and is strongly inspired by art-deco

For the Twister Restaurant’s interior, in Kiev, Ukraine the design team of Serghii Makhno & Vasiliy Butenko have incorporated tornados and rain. The Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Canada

…where to start!? There is so much to say about it. Firstly a big thanks to my dear follower Rebecca Ann for pointing it out!

This beautifully restored Victorian building met some cool folks that are serving a mix of art, culture, style and a great hotel concept in a historical (originally built in 1889) structure. They did it with respect, joy and an open mind. Bravo!!! I simply love it!

The meticulously restored Victorian elevator is one of the last hand-operated elevators in Toronto!

Each of the boutique hotel’s 37 rooms is designed by a different artist, and the on-site gallery hosts shows of works by local talent and international players.

I need to stay there…one fine day.

Without loosing much words, as the photos speak for themself… it’s a NYC design hotel and i like it. Particularly the rooftop bar of “The Surrey” in New York City, USA , as it is simply very, very nice.

The Surrey has 106 “salons & suites”, a fine bar, excuisite restaurant and wonderful SPA.

Sigh…NYC here i come!

The City Library in Stuttgart, Germany is marvelous new media center.  This cavernous white wonder is unobtrusive in design, where the books and visitors provide the color to an otherwise neutral environment.  The visual center of the Stuttgart City Library is its grand atrium, a five-story open chamber that feels like the work of a modernist MC Esher.  The interior is bright without direct lighting, it is warm without paint color and intimate yet open.  This work by Yi Architects is a success in design, instantly one of the world’s most beautiful libraries.

Hotel Wanderlust, in Singapore attracts curious voyagers with a sense of adventure.

The four story boutique hotel is featuring works of singapore design studios Asylum, :phunk and fFurious together with architect firm DP Architects.

The “Goldman” in Frankfurt, Germany is one of the fresh, colorful, sexy-quirky “25 hours” hotels. A group of hotels with properties in Germany, Austria and soon Switzerland.

The Dylan, in Dublin, Ireland is in a 19th-century townhouse that used to house the nurses of a nearby hospital. It is set on the borders of an exclusive Victorian district and is a luxurious, seductive and colorful hotel.
