Speicher 7 Harbour Hotel & Bar is a 1950s warehouse/silo on the waterfront of the Rhine river in Mannheim, Germany. Schmucker and partners architects transformed it while maintaining original features.

The new hotel building with 157 beds occupies a triangular site and is clad in Portland stone, offers views of the Strand.

Arriving guests pass through the ground floor lounge, public restaurants and bar, and ascend to the hotel lobby and champagne bar on the first floor, housed within a nine-storey high pyramidal space, clad entirely in white marble.

On the tenth floor, the Radio Rooftop Bar offers views of the Thames River and the Westminster skyline. 

The Opposite House in Beijing is the first hotel of Swire Hotels  and opened its doors in 2008. This intriguingly urban hotel has 99 guest studios and displays cutting edge design by Kengo Kuma.

Located on a barrier island along Sarasota Bay in Florida, the Casey Key Guest House was designed by Sarasota-based firm TOTeMS Architecture. The design was inspired by the character of the live oaks, which have been shaped by the prevailing coastal winds from the west. Curved glulam pine beams curve up and over the entire space, reflecting the arching quality of the live oak limbs.
